The Queen’s Chapel is a Grade 1 listed building designed by Inigo Jones, and constructed during the 17th century. Following a research programme by our internal Consultant to identify the orginal specifications and finishes, and acting as Principal Contractor, all external elevations of The Queen’s Chapel were repaired and restored by Campbell Smith & Co specialists. The damaged stucco render was repaired with lime based render prepared to a formulation designed by Campbell Smith & Co to match the existing as closely as possible.
The exact tint of the yellow limewash decoration was proposed by Campbell Smith & Co to match the original design and approved by the Royal Household Property Services prior to work commencing. The string course, quoins and cornice were enriched in white.
