Campbell Smith & Co Ltd is part of the Cousins Group (Contractors) Ltd organisation and shares the Group’s commitment to quality and high standards not only in its painting, decorating and maintenance, but also in the calibre of its operatives, supervisors and managers.
This commitment to quality is enshrined in the Group’s operating policies and arrangements, and recognised in our accreditations.
- Our operatives are regularly assessed on workmanship and presentation. All operatives hold the relevant CSCS Cards for their role.
- Each project has a nominated Site Foreman who is the point of contact on site and oversees all quality on a daily basis. All Supervisors hold EMS and SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
- A Contracts Manager is also appointed to each project to oversee all aspects of quality and be a point of contact for the client and product supplier
- To ensure quality throughout the supply chain we seek to enter into supply chain partnerships with our suppliers and our clients
Our Quality Management System is accredited by BSI to ISO 9001:2015.
Our Environmental Management System is accredited by BSI to ISO14001:2015.
We are also members of the Dulux Trade Contractor Partnership, with whom we recorded the highest score nationally in the recent quality audits, and registered with Constructionline, SSIP (CHAS, Achilles Building Confidence, Safecontractor and others) and are approved applicators of all leading brands of paint and Hygienic Coatings (Walllglaze & Sika).

We adhere to all current Health and Safety Legislation, and employ a full time Group Health and Safety Manager to promote safe, environmentally aware working throughout our organisation.
We are fully experienced in carrying out risk assessments, COSHH assessments and complying with the CDM Regulations as Principal Contractor or as a specialist trade contractor, and through our various accreditations our business is frequently audited by third parties for compliance not only with our own procedures, but applicable legislation. .
