A throw back re-tweet in honour of the British motor racing legend Sir Stirling Moss who sadly passed today at the age of 90. We were very privileged to have had such an opportunity. #stirlingmoss #f1legend #restinpeace #tbt #sirstirlingmoss #f1 #heritage #gilding #legend https://t.co/AxbWy6ldRm

We thought today would be quite fitting to share a picture of the magnificent inside of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin, built in honour of Ireland’s patron saint. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! #LoveDublin #Ecclesiastical #StPatricksDay #Conservation #heritage https://t.co/mN9GBm4YJz

In 1973 Fred Dennis, one of our two excellent and well-skilled West Indian craftsmen sized up the spirit of our firm and expressed his thoughts in this calypso!

This was taken from our “Campbell Smith & Company 1873 – 1973 A Century of Decorative Craftsmanship” book by Kenneth Campbell.

#throwbackthursdayIt’s lovely when our office doubles up as an art gallery!
These images, taken from our archive (and now on our office wall) are one of four original sketches of the Spandrils by Frederick G Smith for the Guildhall Council Chamber, London.
The original image highlights exactly where these were located and we have completed works here on two occasions since being built in 1440!
#Restoration #Conservation #heritage #finedecoration #Guildhall #londonWe were absolutely thrilled when this reveal highlighted gold stars behind the paint identified in an original scheme that had been potentially hidden since the early 1970s!

#finedecoration #reveal #fineart #artBefore and after trials in one space on the ceiling of a Grade 1 Listed buildings comprehensive cleaning project.

6400 hours of dedicated cleaning by hand completed and you can see that even before any polishing or buffing the results are incredible.

This project did not require new Gilding or Paintwork our client simply wanted to conserve and repair the fine decorative schemes to their aged finish.
