Queen's Chapel

St. James's, London

The Queen’s Chapel is a Grade 1 listed building designed by Inigo Jones and constructed during the 17th century. Following a research programme by our internal Consultant to identify the original specifications and finishes, all external elevations of The Queen’s Chapel were repaired and restored by Campbell Smith & Co specialists. The damaged stucco render was repaired with lime-based render prepared to a formula designed by Campbell Smith & Co to match the existing as closely as possible.

The exact tint of the yellow limewash decoration was proposed by Campbell Smith & Co and formulated to match the original design. It was approved by the Royal Household Property Services prior to work commencing. The string course, quoins and cornice were enriched in white.

Campbell Smith & Co were Principal Contractors for the work, with CDM responsibility and provided all access and welfare required.
